BLM is seeking a dynamic and energetic individual to join the team to serve as a Staff Support Assistant in the Eastern Montana/Dakotas District Office, Miles City Field Office. The incumbent is responsible for performing a variety of duties including, but not limited to, the following:
Processing all telephone calls through the telephone system.
Greeting and assisting visitors to the office.
Adhering to office security requirements; signing visitors in/out.
Selling maps and permits to the public and serving as a collections officer and cashier for monies received from over the counter sales.
Providing clerical support such as filing, typing, mailroom support, etc..
Ensuring correspondence and documents are timely and accurate with respect to grammar, format and conformance with policy.
Providing backup support and guidance to employees in the travel program and as the backup timekeeper. You must meet all qualification requirements by the closing date of the announcement. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
