Hotel Head Housekeeper

Responsible for supervising the housekeeping staff. Duties include: hiring, training, evaluating and scheduling all members of the housekeeping department; inspecting all rooms daily ensuring quality controls are met; assigning laundry attendants' duties; generating supply requisitions; maintaining a lost and found department; and maintaining the linen and supply inventory.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Supervises all housekeeping staff members, hires new staff members as needed, and documents warning notices when company policy has been violated.
2. Evaluates housekeeping staff members.
3. Plans the work for the housekeeping department and distributes assignments accordingly. Inspects all hotel rooms daily, to include morning check of unoccupied rooms and inspection of each room assigned after completion.
4. Assigns laundry attendants' duties or any special assignments that may be deemed necessary.
5. Schedules staff members and assigns extra days off according to the occupancy forecast.
6. Maintains records on all staff members within the department.
7. Informs new staff members of the company's rules and regulations.
8. Trains and assigns new staff members to work with experienced staff members. Checks on the work of the new staff members and observes continuing performance for evaluation and review.
9. Inspects the housekeeping staff to determine if they are working as assigned and checks the quality and quantity of their work.
10. Checks all areas of the Motel - rooms, public areas, store rooms, etc., especially places likely to be overlooked by staff members when cleaning.
11. Generates supply requisitions, such as chemicals, equipment, etc.
12. Holds regular meetings for the purpose of continued training and proficiency and keeps minutes of the meetings.
13. Responsible for linen and supply inventory. Retires linen as necessary with approval of Motel Manager.
14. Coordinates with Maintenance on required repairs.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High School diploma or GED or related experience in the area of supervision.

Ability to lift 30 lb. regularly and 50 lb. occasionally.
Ability to stoop, bend, kneel, walk, carry, lift, climb, and have manual dexterity.
Ability to tolerate cleaning solutions occasionally, wearing proper protective equipment..

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
