This position under limited supervision is responsible for successfully moving materials supplies and finished goods through the facility including unloading frozen food product from semis into warehouse freezers and loading frozen food from warehouse freezers into delivery trucks.
Move materials through facility with the use of material handling equipment i.e. forklift pallet jack hoist crane ASRS etc.
Responsible to coordinate manufacturing schedule with manufacturing requirements
Move route trucks into place for loading/unloading.
Properly document all shipments and work performed
Stack skids or pallets in designated areas. Clean up and disposes of scrap bracing cardboard and strapping and places in proper containers or designated areas.
Use tools such as hammers and crowbars to remove strapping open crates strap cars.
Use the computer to dispense and receive complex information that includes product codes part numbers quantities locations comments etc.
May assist with the planning and assigning of personnel for given projects or tasks and may provide assistance with mentoring or evaluation of lower staff.
Conduct intermediate material audits.
Responsible to conduct yourself and ensure your subordinates (if applicable) conduct themselves in a manner consistent with company mission values code of ethics policies and other standards of conduct.
Qualifications: Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
Years of Related
Experience: Typically 3-5 years of related experience
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Intermediate communication skills. Intermediate PC and basic math skills. Ability to operate equipment including forklift pallet jack hoist crane etc.
The incumbent must meet the Federal Department of Transportation eligibility requirements including appropriate driver's license and corresponding medical certification as a condition of employment for this position. Must possess and retain a valid Commercial Driver License (CDL). May require airbrake endorsement.
